Who Is Norma?
Norma is registered with the American Paint Horse Association (APHA). Her registered name is Sensational Compromise, but she prefers to be known as Norma. Norma is owned by Lisa Laplace and was purchased from Limelite Show Horses in 2016 as a weanling. Norma was named by Brian Henry and John Zeldenthius after Brian’s grandmother who had passed. They shared red hair and a feisty personality. So, to honor her namesake, she remains known as “Norma”!
The Norma Story
Lisa recognized Norma’s special personality and she soon rose to fame as a Facebook personality for Rafter L Stables. Her following continues to grow as she chronicles her daily life (with a little help from Lisa). Norma keeps it real so her followers can identify with her successes as well as her struggles on her journey toward her goal to become an Equine Ambassador. Her fresh perspective from the horse’s view is designed to be fun, entertaining, and educational. She has an insatiable desire to learn and experience the human condition so she can become a perfect role model for young people. Norma joined forces with Lisa Laplace and Rafter L Stables to offer programs such as “Meet Norma” events. These events are an opportunity for Norma to make smiles happen as an Equine Ambassador! The mission of these events is to create a positive equine experience to last a lifetime. Norma loves all her fans and hopes to meet every one of them!
The Person Behind The Post
Lisa and Norma have had a unique bond from the beginning. Lisa insists that Norma wanted Lisa to create the Norma Diaries. “Every time I’d walk by Norma, she would just give me this odd look. I would go about my chores when suddenly a Norma Diary idea would come in such an intense way that I would have to stop and take notes on my phone. It started as a funny joke with periodic posts, but soon The Norma Diaries became popular.” “I add human to her posts, but believe me, she has an endless supply of content!”
The Hat
Most inspiration comes from Norma herself, but Lisa and Norma share a creative secret. On a shopping trip with a dear friend, Lisa found a hat shop. This was no ordinary hat shop because it had the perfect hat for inspiration and creativity! It is not uncommon to find Lisa wearing her Norma Diary hat typing away in her creative corner!
